Heywood-Wakefield offers four dining tables and two styles of dining chair, all of solid Northern Yellow Birch. No plywood, particle board or veneer is used in the construction of our dining room furniture.
The distinctive Butterfly Dining Table (M 197 G) is recognized everywhere as our signature table with its unmistakable retro styling and dramatic lines. The M 960 G 48" Round Dining Table is perfect for square dining rooms and smaller areas, yet still opens to provide ample seating for six adults. The two Large Extension Tables (M 789 G and M 799 G) round out the selection with two very versatile rectangular models for those needing larger tables.
The M 154 A and M 555 A Dining Side Chairs, and M 154 C and M 555 C Dining Arm Chairs complement the tables with solid-wood strength and beauty. A wide choice of high-quality custom upholstery fabrics is available, or you may supply any fabric of your own choosing.
It is important to note that much progress has been made in furniture construction materials and techniques since these designs were first introduced in the 1940s and 1950s. Besides great advances in gluing and finishing technologies, we have redesigned the manner in which legs are attached to tables, giving a much more solid feel. Steel plates and bolts have replaced the old wood-on-wood method of mounting legs, assuring that the "wobble" often found in vintage models will never be a problem with new pieces. However, styles have not been altered; the "look" is the same.
